Q: | Why should I participate? |
A: | If you want to understand what is happening in your neighborhood, these devices can provide real-time and historical data. The more sensors in a community, the more you can see the flow of PM2.5 flowing through your neighborhood. This is a low-cost and effective method for citizens, communities, government, or researchers to understand the subtle dynamics in your neighborhood. Coupled with other scientific equipment, the aggregated data will provide key scientific insights for your community. |
Q: | I am a citizen scientist, where can I get the sensor? |
A: | Currently, there are a number of indoor and outdoor devices that you can build yourself or purchase. Open source plans and directions are available online. Check out the following links: |
Q: | I live in Houston, how can I participate the Houston project? |
